Company Girl Coffee (Tea) 27march2009

Good morning, Sunshine! I hope you are having a fantastic day today. I woke up this morning to fog, fog, fog. But that also means we'll have more rain today and I don't have to hand-water my garden. WooHoo! Don't get me wrong...I love having a garden, or should I say I love harvesting a garden. I could take or leave the actual taking care of it. Not because I don't want to or don't like to, I just get distracted and forget to actually water it from time to time. It's a character fault I am continually working towards rooting out.

We've got school to finish up today as well as some errands. It's our CRED - Crazy Run Errands Day. In the rain and fog. Yippee. I still need to finish some laundry and get the house looking like a house instead of a bomb site.

The man and I also have a date tonight while the little girlie goes to her grandparents house for a sleepover with one of her girlie cousins and the boy stays home with a sitter all to himself. Tomorrow is a kids' birthday party for a friend from church and then tomorrow night I get a night out all to myself! I know...pure bliss. Still haven't decided what I will do with this coveted time, but I'm sure I'll think of something totally useless and random.

We are hopefully going to a rabbitry on Sunday afternoon. The princess has been wanting a rabbit for about a year now and I have a friend who raises rabbits not too far from us. We want to make sure neither of the kids are allergic to them and no asthma is set off. Then we actually have to find a place for the little critter to live. We think our screened porch is going to be it's little domain, but we don't even have a cage yet. First things first.

So, what are y'all doing this weekend? How's your week been?

  3. Our date is at a new restaurant in a nearby small town. Steak and jazz music...it's a great combo in my book.

  4. I know just what you mean about watering a garden. Such a completely forgettable task. Unfortunately, all our plants (well, seeds) are currently in a coldframe so have to watered even when it rains, but it is so nice when God does the work for you! Sounds like you've got a lovely weekend ahead. Hope you enjoy the date and the time to yourself.

    Best wishes,
    Jo

  6. I fall prey to the same character flaw...watering the garden is one of my worst failures. I've been thankful for the rain, too!!

Have a great date night AND alone time. Sometimes it's a toss-up as to which one I need more....

ps My mom just gave me some friendship bread starter....yum!

  7. Have a wonderful weekend with some couple time and alone time. Sometimes I think I could just sit in the car and nap if left alone for a few minutes. Hope you feel refreshed and renewed

  8. One of my daughters is allergic to cats, so we were quite concerned while visiting my brother's place and she came upstairs from visiting their pet rabbit and her eyes were swollen and she was having difficulty breathing...a good reason not to have a rabbit at our house!
    Have a good time!

  9. We had rabbits and the kids loved them! (well, I can't stand dust bunnies!) Thankfully no one is allergic to any type of animals here.

We are going to a silent auction and spaghetti dinner tonight for a friend's school. Since we're semi empty nesters with one college kiddo who comes home occassionally, date nights unfortunately don't happen very often anymore. I'm going to have to fix that!

Enjoy working in your garden. We just got rid of all of our snow here in Spokane, WA (or at least in our yard!) so I'm thinking about fixing my raspberry patch fence to keep the beagle boys out of it!

    Happy Weekend!

  11. Well...the Steak and Jazz restaurant was outstanding! The steak was sooo good and the atmosphere was relaxing. I even tried a chocolate martini for dessert.

    Divine.

Here's to a great start to the weekend.

Tomorrow morning we are taking the boy (age 7) to IHOP for breakfast.

Time for some shut-eye. Night y'all.

  12. I know exactly what you mean about the garden. Hope you enjoyed your date night, and your night out by yourself. I'm sure it'll be refreshing. A rabbit! We're not really pet people, but if the kids ever wanted any kind of pet, it would be a rabbit. We had one in the classroom that I taught, so at least I know how to care for it. =p Thanks for having me by. Take care.

I hope your weekend went well! Did you do something fun with your night all to yourself?
